Using SAM systems is possible with any type of audio source, feeding analog line level or AES/EBU digital audio. Advantages of using SAM systems result from the fact that the system can be easily calibrated to match the room acoustics, resulting with better and more reliable listening and sound quality. SAM systems can be controlled in normal daily operation with the GLM software. It is recommended that the monitoring system volume control is done with GLM, so that the signal from the audio source can run at full level to the SAM monitors. With analog signal sources, volume control can be done also in the mixing console or monitor controller device.
