When the mixer turn off

I own Genelec 8030 monitors and am unsure how to handle the situation when turning off my mixer. My home studio setup consists of a Soundcraft EPM8 mixer and Genelec 8030 monitors. I keep the power of the Genelec speakers ON to utilize the ISS function. However, when I turn off the mixer, noise is output, and I hear it from the speakers. Could this be an issue for the Genelec speakers? I am worried that the momentary electrical stress might affect the lifespan of the speakers. For reference, the master fader on the mixer is set to 0.

Apologies for the very late reply.

The noise you hear when turning off your mixer is a common occurrence in audio setups. When the mixer powers down, it can send a transient (a short pop or click) through the audio cables to the monitors. This will not cause damage your Genelec speakers, as they are designed to handle such momentary signals.

Rest assured, occasional pops or clicks when powering down are not harmful to your monitors. If you have any further concerns or questions about your setup, feel free to ask or create ticket—we are happy to help! 😊

Thank you so much for your detailed explanation! I understand now. I’m very satisfied with the ISS function, and I would like to use it often. However, I’m wondering if using the ISS function all the time could shorten the speakers’ lifespan. I’m sorry for the additional question, but what do you think? If you have any recommended guidelines for using the ISS function, I would appreciate it if you could let me know.
