Hello!
I have a question regarding your body location in room calibration.
When I do the room sweep where should I be?
Should I sit in the desk chair in my usual position?
Should I leave the room?
Should I duck under the desk?
Should the chair be there?
I’ve done calibrations a few times and always wondered this.
Surely your body will affect the room sweep as you’ll absorb some sound, being in the sweet spot of the monitors with a chair.
I’d assume that you’d want the sweep to take into account you and your usual sitting position including the chair.
I have always removed the chair and left the room. But I feel this might not be an accurate reading.
Maybe I’m over thinking it?
Thanks!

Hi! We recommend staying outside the sound field. You don’t need to leave the room, but avoid standing between the speakers and the microphone, or directly behind the microphone, as this can cause reflections. The same applies to chairs with high backrests. Calibration is designed to give you an optimal starting point and a wider sweet spot. Your body is not factored in, since its effect changes as soon as you move.
Best regards!
