Hi, I’m thinking about an upgrade to the 8351 and would like to use the 9101 remote for different listening positions in my living room. For doing so, I understood a computer has to be connected. Does this also require additional work in the GLM software, or is it sufficient to only start up my Mac ? I’m asking this, because I’m not planning on a computer monitor in my living room. Cheers !

Hi! You can indeed switch groups for different listening positions with the wireless remote if you're using the 9310B for volume control. But this is only possible if GLM is open and running on a computer. In stand alone mode the speakers can only store one setting. Greetings!
Hi Marcel,
Did you mean the 9101B, and not the 9301B, or are you saying I only can use the 9101B remote for switching sweetspots, when I use the other 9301B remote for volume control ? Cheers
Hi Michiel! No, I was referring to the wired volume controller https://www.genelec.com/9310b-wired-volume-controller ... But indeed, it was only needed to switch groups when using the original 3-button 9101A. With the 6-button 9101B you can also switch groups even without having the wired controller connected. Sorry for the confusion. ;-) But in all cases GLM has to run.
