latency adjustment headphones ?

Hi,

I'm thinking upgrading my dj setup with the 8351 monitors.

One thing I'm worried about is latency of GLM software; what's coming out of the monitors has to be in sync with my headphones signal coming directly from my mixer. More than 3 ms is a problem (when I might add a GLM sub this could be even worse, considering the bigger distance of the sub)

Is there a way to route the headphone signal to add latency, so it's in sync with the monitors ? Can this be done using the 9320A controller ? Or are there any other tricks for syncing headphones to GLM monitors ?

Kind regards,

Michiel

Hi Michiel! GLM itself does not cause any latency, it's the DSP processing of the monitors that will add approx. 4 ms. For comparison: 1 m distance to the speakers already adds 3 ms ... The 9320 could not be used for this application, because it mutes the outputs the moment you switch to headphones. I think you could check if some DJ mixers offer a delay for the headphones output. Hi Marcel,

Thank you ! 4 ms is not too bad :)

    Hi Marcel,

Do you happen to know if using digital / AES input wil reduce latency ?

    Cheers, Michiel

Hi Michiel, it's almost the same for the digital input (small variations depending on the sampling rate you're using).

Btw - this is the specific value for 8351B:

So it's 3.1 ms for the analog inputs.

    Greetings!
