Hi,
I thought I might mention a couple of features that I miss in the otherwise excellent GLM. If other users have ideas, feel free to post!
- It would be great to have Sound Character Profile to affect subwoofers and not only main speakers.
- Option to change order in group presets.
- Importing Groups to Setup File.
- Keep existing name when duplicating a Group and and a number (like _1)
- I have no idea how complicated it is and if it's possible at all, but it would be really nice with a feature that let you back of from a calibration, like decreasing it to for example to 75% where 100% is what you get after the calibration. In a working/mixing situation this is probably not needed but for recreational listening it would be very nice feature that I would love since I do both. May be even more complicated, but if one could choose if the percentage would affect midrange or bass as well, would be so cool.
- Shortcut to close Acoustic Editor Window. Maybe there already is, but I can't find it using Mac.
- Option to make the parameter part of acoustic editor window bigger vertically without affecting the frequency response window and vice versa. Also a memory remembering the last preference.
- Cancel button on the first window after pressing Edit in Group Preset Meny.
- Max level Restriction at maybe -40 by default to avoid hearing damage and discomfort when disconnecting GLM software. Again, maybe not possible due to things I haven't considered.
That's all I have for now, thanks for a otherwise great software!

Thanks a lot for your proposals! We'll forward them to our developer team and discuss them. And yes, everyone who wants to share his feedback, please do so!

Yes please! I always assumed that the profile would apply to all speakers, just like any other user of a Genelec system. This is very basic functionality.
Also what I would like to see is a combined (main + sub) curve representation, where you can see the Measurement, Filter Sum and Corrected frequency response/level curves, like it's shown in the GRADE report. This couldn't be difficult, you already have the programming part for the generation of said report.
As it is now, you have to open the main speakers, and separately the subwoofer, making it impractical. You sell the speakers + subwoofer/s as a whole system, but in the software it's not treated like that.
Or maybe even better, there could be a combined "Acoustic Editor", besides showing de mentioned combined curves, you could see and set all filters of all speakers.
Thank you!
Thanks for sharing your feedback!
I wish that there where a "Revert Calibration" option so you didn't need to always make duplicates.
And as mentioned above make the Sound Profiler affect subwoofers also and not only speakers.
The default behavior for GLM should be to calculate the best crossover frequency for the subwoofer.
GLM should differentiate between measurement and correction. I should be able to store measurements and perform repeated corrections without doing new measurement. Obvious use case: genelec supposedly improves the cloud correction algorithms continuously. Hence I should be able to use these improvements without redoing the measurements.
The concept of "groups" is overused and frankly confusing. Should be redone.
GLM version 4 has one significant downgrade from v3 which I can't understand and I hope it would be fixed -> the mouse wheel controls the volume ONLY when the mouse is above the volume slider. Please enable the mouse wheel operation and volume control ALWAYS when the GLM windows is active. Please.
Hi Ville! We have changed this on purpose to make sure people will not change the volume by accident. Could a midi controller be an option for you? All the best!
Thx. I feared this. Guess I have to stick with the GLM v3 then :(
Or you can of course use the standard keyboard shortcuts:
Thanks, this can help a bit -> I should be able to bind these commands to my keyboards programmable volume buttons.
P.S. I am also experimenting with Elgato StreamDeck+ controller. With loopMIDI I was able to get the volume knobs working with GLM4. However, there seems to be a bug somewhere, because when using loopMIDI, the GLM4 volume can only be decreased.
