How can I set GLM to automatically start on my PC? (Windows OS/Mac OS)

On the Windows 11

  1. Select the Start button, which looks like the Microsoft logo.
  2. Select Settings.
  3. On the left-hand side of the window, select Apps.
  4. Select Startup at the bottom of the Apps window.
  5. Use the toggles to determine which apps you want to run on startup.

On the Windows 10 or older

  1. Select the Start  button and scroll to find the app you want to run at startup.

  2. Right-click the app, select More, and then select Open file location. This opens the location where the shortcut to the app is saved. If there isn't an option for Open file location, it means the app can't run at startup.

  3. With the file location open, press the Windows logo key  + R, type shell:startup, then select OK. This opens the Startup folder.

  4. Copy and paste the shortcut to the app from the file location to the Startup folder.

On the MacOS

Add or remove automatic items

  1. On your Mac, choose Apple menu  > System Settings, click General  in the sidebar, then click Login Items on the right. (You may need to scroll down.)

  2. Do any of the following:

    • Add a login item: Click the Add button  below the list of items, select a document, folder, app, server or other item, then click Add.

    • Remove a login item: Select the name of the item you want to prevent from opening automatically, then click the Remove button  below the list.

    • Allow apps to run in the background: Turn on the app to allow it to perform tasks when the app isn’t open, such as checking for software updates or syncing data.
